WHAT HAPPENED?
Alvarez impressed over the two legs between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid in their Champions League round of 16 tie. However, as the Rojiblancos took their city rivals to a penalty shootout, it was the Argentine who saw his penalty ruled out by referee Szymon Marciniak as he was ruled to have touched the ball twice during his kick.

However, it was Alvarez's controversial penalty that stole the headlines, and the former Manchester City star was left 'incredulous' by the decision in the dressing room, as per ESPN.
